Earth Day Paddle

Earth Day Paddle Meetup Event

Come out and enjoy the outdoors from Palm Valley Bridge to Aunt Kate's in Vilano (roughly 15 miles) with fellow paddlers. The current will be in our favor for the entire way (we'll see about the wind). All skill levels and paddle craft are welcome but you are responsible for your own safety and equipment.

We're considering separate start times for the different kinds of boards/boats so that we can all finish at roughly the same time:

Start Times:
SUP/Kayak - 8:30am
OC/Surfski - 9:30am

Start Location: Palm Valley Kayak Launch (West side of Palm Valley Bridge)

Finish Location: Aunt Kate's Restaurant (Vilano)
...
The distance is roughly 15 miles, most of which is along the back of Guana State Park. If anyone wants to go further it is 18 miles to the Vilano Boat Ramp. We should all finish in time for a late lunch at Aunt Kate's. Lunch is NOT provided as part of the paddle, but we do hope that you will hang around and get to know some of the other people from other disciplines of paddling, and support a local restaurant.

Just like last time, everyone is responsible for their own safety and equipment. If you don't have your own, North Guana Outpost has rental SUPs and Kayaks available and can transport them to the start and from the finish of the paddle.

There is plenty of parking available at both the start and finish location, so you are responsible for organizing your own transportation to and from the event. Please post any questions/thoughts on the facebook discussion page.
